With the Cubbing Centenary in full swing we spoke to Amanda Mbatha (11) from the Sithandiwe Cub Pack in the Umlazi district in KwaZulu-Natal.
SSA: Why is Cubbing so much fun?
Because we come on Saturdays to learn more.
SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
When we went to the Talie and Winter Camp.
SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
I are bush berries on the veld.
SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
The toughest challenge was when we went to do the obstacles.
SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
The most amazing place was when I visited Hammasdale.
SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
I learnt to obey God and respect adults.
SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
On Mandela Day we visited orphans and gave them food and clothes.
SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mum how to do gardening.
SSA: What makes a good Akela?
To be a good Akela is to keeps Cubs happy.
SSA: Why is your Akela special?
My Akela is special because she teaches us some Cubs things.
