This year we are celebrating 100 years of Cubbing worldwide. We spoke to Aphiwe Emmanuel Skoti (11) from 1st Rosebank Cub Pack in the Western Cape about his Cubbing adventures.
SSA: Why is Cubbing so much fun?
Cubbing is fun because we do so many exiting activities like going camping.
SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experience was going on a Camp at our Scout Farm called Hawequas.
SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
The weirdest thing I ate outdoors was a banana boat. We cut a banana, put chocolate inside and melted it in the fire.
SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
The hike up Table Mountain to our Scout hut was the toughest challenge!
SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
The most amazing place was Hawequas.
SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
By being a Cub I learnt how to work as a team.
SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
We picked up litter on the Rondebosch Common.
SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mum how to make a firelighter out of newspaper.
SSA: What makes a good Akela?
A good Akela is fun!
SSA: Why is your Akela special?
My Akela is special because he is the Akela.
Cubbing Rocks because … we do a lot of activities!
