For 100 years Cubs have been learning the values and principles developed by Lord Baden Powell. These values are the core of the Cubbing and Scouting programmes. We spoke to Silindile Magawu(9) from 1st Isago Cub Pack in the Northern Cape.
SSA: Why is Cubbing so much fun?
Cubbing is fun because we sing songs and play games!
SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experience was playing games at the Cub meeting.
SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
The weirdest thing I ate outdoors was a bird.
SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
We went to visit some Scout halls which I really liked!
SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
By being a Cub I learnt to respect other people,
SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
We went to an old age home and helped the elders.
SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I learnt to help other people and to recycle.
SSA: What makes a good Akela?
A good Akela teaches us values and respect!
SSA: Why is your Akela special?
My Akela is special because he respects us and we respect him.
