Going outdoors and exploring the world we live is key for any Cub Pack. This is what makes Cubbing awesome for Piper Jackman (10) from 9th Benoni Cub Pack in Gauteng.
SSA: Why is Cubbing so much fun?
Cubbing is fun because we can see all the animals and nature.
SSA: What was your best experience with Cubs?
My best experiences are when we go camping and work in a team.
SSA: What is the weirdest thing you ate outdoors?
We had to eat “a bug” on a bug camp once.
SSA: What was the toughest challenge at Cubs?
I am working on my world friendship badge and I am sending letters to my friend in Australia. This is hard!
SSA: What was the most amazing place you visited with Cubs?
The most amazing place was when we hiked up to the top of a mountain, I just can’t remember where it was.
SSA: Can you name a few things you have learnt by being a Cub?
At Cubs I learnt how to make a fire, how to clean water, how to survive outdoors and how to make trail signs.
SSA: What things have you done with Cubs to help people in your community?
We helped somebody get a guide dog and we are doing that again with our Pack.
SSA: What did you teach your mum that you learned at Cubs?
I taught my mum how to cook!
SSA: What makes a good Akela?
A good Akela shows responsibility, helps others and works with us as a team.
SSA: Why is your Akela special?
My Akela is special because he is so kind.
Cubbing Rocks because … we get to see new things.
