Dear Scouting family,
With the recent announcement by the President, we have revised the SCOUTS South Africa Safety Plan Regulations to align with the Level 3 extended regulations as published. These revised rules will be in place from today. We will review them on the 15th January 2021, or as soon as the Government updates their regulations. Find them HERE: SCOUTS-South-Africa-Safety-plan-for-SSA-members-2020_Revised_Level-3_20201231F
I am very conscious that while the period until 15 January is usually a quiet time in terms of Scouting, there are activities that the tightened restrictions and ban on social gatherings have and will impact on. I encourage us all to continue the great work of finding new and innovative ways to continue Scouting at home and in our family bubbles despite the restrictions on face to face activities.
We are all hoping that compliance under the current regulations slows the current explosive spread of the virus and soon permits us to resume some of the activities that are not possible under these regulations.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you all a better 2021. 2020 has been a challenging year and it is clear that the challenges stemming from the pandemic are not going away anytime soon. We have managed to overcome many challenges in 2020, and there is light on the horizon, we just need to keep on moving forward and do our best.
Keep safe and keep well.
Yours in Scouting,
Brendon Hausberger
Chief Scout
