We are excited to be partnering with WWF SA again to #GivingAnHourForEarth! To help our planet AND stand a chance to win a glamping getaway is to Unleash your Scout Power for Earth Hour!
Spend an hour having fun with Scouts in the outdoors, go on a hike with your Scouting friends, do a local clean-up, get to know a new culture, or run the “Our Heritage programme” in the month of March. As long you do something you love to #GiveAnHourForEarth!
Are you in? Get ideas or register you Scout Power Hours here: www.wwf.org.za/hourbank, to stand a chance to win a relaxing weekend in nature at one of 17 AfriCamps sites around the country!
You can log as many activities as you like, as long as they fall within the Hourbank categories! This year we have our very own Scouting category again “Unleash your Scout Power for Earth Hour!
If you have done one or more of the following – you can log your hours or the hours of your Den, Pack, Troop, Patrol, Crew.
- Have 1 hour of Scouting fun in the outdoors!
- Explore the world around you and go on a hike!
- Visit a local park or reserve and discover our indigenous flora!
- Run a local clean-up or alien vegetation clearing action!
- Plant indigenous trees!
- Run the “Our Heritage” National Challenge programme!
- Learn about a culture other than yours!
Earth Hour is the world’s largest grassroots environmental campaign. It started as a ‘switch-off’ event, but in South Africa, where we are sometimes involuntarily switched off for hours at a time, we do Earth Hour differently, rallying supporters to give an Hour for Earth by doing something they love.
