Lead exciting activities at SA’s National Rover Moot 2025

SCOUTS South Africa’s 10th National Rover Moot taking place from 12-16 December 2025 promises to be an incredible adventure for Rovers from across South Africa and beyond!

 The team is looking for passionate “Activity Centre Leads” to design and deliver engaging programmes around set themes that will challenge, inspire, and connect participants!

What is an Activity Centre Lead?

As an Activity Centre Lead, you will take charge of one themed activity centre, planning and running a full-day experience (or longer) for participants. You’ll recruit and manage volunteers, coordinate logistics, and ensure an impactful programme aligned with Scouting’s values.

Activity centres & themes:

  • 🌍 Community service – Lead meaningful projects that make a difference within walking distance of Arrowe Park.
  • ⛺ Overnight adventure – Plan an immersive outdoor expedition away from the campsite in Johannesburg.
  • 🌱 Global development village – Facilitate workshops on sustainability, leadership, and world issues.
  • 🌊 Water activities – Organise kayaking, rafting, and aquatic challenges.
  • 🔨 Making – Create hands-on experiences with crafting, engineering, and problem-solving.
  • 🏕 Scouting skills – Teach classic Scouting techniques like pioneering, survival, and bush craft.
  • 🕊 Spirituality & reflection – Foster mindfulness, interfaith dialogue, and personal growth.
  • 🏙 Johannesburg tour – Guide participants through an exciting city adventure.
  • 🎭 Evening activities programme – Curate engaging entertainment, from campfires to cultural performances.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and oversee all activities for your chosen Activity Centre.
  • Work with logistics to ensure resources and safety measures are in place.
  • Recruit and lead a team of volunteers.
  • Ensure the programme is inclusive, engaging, and aligned with the Moot’s theme.

Who should apply?

  • Have experience in event planning, youth engagement, or activity facilitation.
  • Are confident leading a team and managing logistics.
  • Have expertise or a strong interest in one of the activity themes.
